Youth Advisory Board

A Precious Child’s Youth Advisory Board is a service-learning and leadership development program comprised of outstanding students from across the Denver Metro area, helping to further the organization’s mission. We have our Youth Advisory Board for 9th – 12th grade students and our Junior Youth Advisory Board for 7th and 8th grade students.

Senior Youth Advisory Board

 

9th – 12th grade Youth Advisory Board Members are required to:

  • Attend Youth Advisory Board meetings, which are held one Sunday each month from July to April. Attendance at meetings is mandatory with a limit of two absences for the year.
  • Complete 75 hours of community service per year. At least 50 hours must be completed at A Precious Child. The remaining 25 hours can be completed at A Precious Child or another nonprofit, school etc. of your choice.
  • Organize at least two donation drives (clothes, hygiene products, sporting equipment etc.) within your school or community during the year.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the Youth Advisory Board’s Movie Night fundraiser.

Junior Youth Advisory Board

 

7th and 8th grade Youth Advisory Board Members are required to:

  • Attend Junior Youth Advisory Board meetings, which are held one Sunday each month from July to April. Attendance at meetings is mandatory, with a limit of two absences for the year.
  • Complete 50 hours of community service per year. At least 35 hours must be completed at A Precious Child. The remaining 15 hours can be completed at A Precious Child or another nonprofit, school etc. of your choice.
  • Organize one donation drive (clothing, sports equipment, birthday bags, etc.) within your middle school or community during the year.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the Youth Advisory Board’s Movie Night fundraiser.

The application phase for the 2023-2024 school year has closed out and our list of active board members has been finalized. If you’d like to apply next year, please complete our Expression of Interest: Youth Advisory Board form to be notified when we release the application for next year. Applications will be released in late-April and will be due by May 31st, 2024.
