Career Opportunities

Development Manager

In working towards helping A Precious Child meet its overall objective of providing basic necessities for children, the Development Manager is responsible for working alongside the Development Team to ensure fundraising goals and objectives are met to achieve the annual budget set for the organization. The Development Manager is responsible for working alongside the Chief Philanthropy to ensure all individual giving goals are met. The Development Manager is also in charge of A Precious Child’s Women’s Guild; ensuring meetings are held, events are hosted, members are engaged and sponsorship goals are met.

Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM, Exempt, Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Manager of Volunteer Services

In working towards helping A Precious Child meet its overall objective of providing opportunities and resources to children in need, the Manager of Volunteer Services serves as a key member of the A Precious Child team overseeing the outreach, coordination and follow-up necessary to engage and support all volunteers. This position will be managing the logistics of volunteer services and not directly managing volunteers. Our volunteers will be inspired, supported, and celebrated to help children succeed through meaningful volunteer experiences.

Hours: Full-Time, Exempt, Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-5PM with some evenings and weekends.

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Direct Reports: Volunteer Coordinator

Internship Opportunities 

Agency Partner Internship

The Agency Partner Intern will be responsible for directly engaging with A Precious Child’s agency partners. The internship will build and foster new and current community partners and work diligently to streamline communication, enhance partnerships and maintain accurate data.

Community Engagement Intern

The Community Engagement Intern will report to the Volunteer Manager to run and maintain the Volunteer Department at A Precious Child. Working to fulfill the organizations missions and goals the Community Engagement Intern will work on a variety of tasks to ensure this success.

Database & Finance Intern

The Finance and Database Intern will work directly with our VP of Finance and Database Specialist to organize and maintain the organization’s financial database. In working towards helping A Precious Child meet its overall goal of empowering children to succeed, the Finance and Database Intern will also will be responsible for assisting with technical task such as generating and reconciling reports, coding and organizing and maintaining fundraiser campaigns pages.

Grants Internship

 The Grants Intern will work directly with the Grants Manager to execute the organization’s ongoing development plan. In working towards helping A Precious Child meet its overall goal of empowering kids to succeed, the Grants Intern will also be responsible for additional administrative and communications related tasks to assist with tracking and organizing of prospective funders, maintaining relationships with current funders and assist Grants Manager in ensuring the organization is in compliance all current funding requirements.

Event & Development Intern

We are on the hunt for dynamic self-starters to assist with event planning efforts. Under the direction of the Events Director, interns will observe and assist with various projects assigned by the Development Department. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual interested in learning more about nonprofit fundraising and event planning. Resource Center Intern

You will be a key member in our teams’ mission to providing a dignified and respectful shopping experience for our clients and their children. During your time with A Precious Child you will work closely with our Resource Center Manager to understand the full scope of our mission statement, programming, and impact on the community.

Volunteer Management Intern

 Interns will mainly be responsible for managing, training and supervising volunteers. Currently, our Donation Center hosts the largest amount of volunteers on a daily basis and can host up to 70 volunteers at a time. Interns will gain leadership and supervisory skills while ensuring a positive volunteer experience. A Precious Child’s Volunteer Vision is that every volunteer is inspired, supported, and celebrated. Interns will work to ensure a great volunteer experience for all.
