Tom Deland Garden at A Precious child.

Chief Deland was an integral part of A Precious Child’s founding and growth throughout the years. He was an advocate, hero, and believer in people. He was passionate about serving disadvantaged and displaced children in our community.

He believed in the holistic wraparound services and programs of A Precious Child, stepping up to volunteer at our events, to host tours, to fundraise and to give support in any way that was needed.

After retiring from the Broomfield Police Department, Tom remained loyal to his hometown of Broomfield and continued his support of a multitude of service and giving organizations, helping out where he could and stepping up where needed. Because of Tom’s generosity, dedication and resounding support to A Precious Child, he was named the 2022 Individual Hero of A Precious Child and a bench is
dedicated in his memory.

We invite you to continue this genuine hero’s legacy by supporting A Precious Child’s mission to provide cradle to career services and support to children in need.
