Precious Perks provides opportunities through A Precious Child’s Social Enterprise Coffee and Gift Shop for young adults, 16-24-year-olds, who are currently out of school and without employment, helping them with training, obtaining and retaining employment.
Young adults are consistently unemployed at higher rates than other demographics, and there is currently no other opportunity for these young adults to participate locally in an individual-focused wrap-around workforce development plan. With a focus on diversity, inclusion and belonging, participants learn how to navigate the professional workforce and the many obstacles they will face. Providing continued mentorship and opportunities with A Precious Child’s multiple programs will allow the participants to feel secure, supported, and stay on the path of self-reliance.
Precious Perks combines social services, community supports, job training and education that positions young adults to succeed in the workforce. Over their training period, participants will have strategic short-term, mid-term and long-term achievements. The participants will have hands-on experience and supervision, followed by leading the program through the new class’s leadership.
