Create meaningful change in lives of so many children and families! Volunteers are the powerhouse of A Precious Child – fulfilling our mission requires more than 7,000 volunteers annually who donate thousands of hours of volunteer service.
We have an array of volunteer opportunities to choose from for individuals, youth and families, corporate and community groups – all of which directly benefit children and families in need.
Volunteer Opportunities
Schedule:
Monday – Friday
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Our standard shifts are scheduled in 2-hour increments from 9-11 AM, 11-1 PM, 1-3 PM & 3-5 PM. Custom scheduling is available.
Weekend Opportunities in our Donation Center every third Saturday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and Evening Shifts every second Wednesday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Youth and Family Volunteering
Flexible volunteering is available for individuals and families in order to fit in your busy schedules and desired area for volunteering.
To get started as a volunteer, please create an account on our volunteer site. Then, you will be able to sign-up for whatever volunteer shifts align with your interests and availability.
Group Volunteering
We welcome large corporate, church, and community groups of volunteers. Participating in a Day of Service builds team cohesion, boosts morale, and increases motivation. Bring your colleagues, youth groups, friends, and club members to invest time in making a difference in the lives of local children in need.

Individual Volunteering
A variety of flexible and consistent volunteer opportunities are available throughout all of A Precious Child’s departments. For consistent volunteer opportunities, please sign up for an orientation. For general flexible volunteer opportunities, please create an account.
Remote Volunteering
We offer a variety of different offsite and virtual volunteer opportunities to make service projects accessible for you and your team! We fully facilitate and manage each project from start to finish so your group can learn about our mission, get hands-on with the work we do and understand the impact you will have made.
Court Mandated Volunteering
Volunteers needing to complete court mandated service hours are welcome to help out in the Donation Center at A Precious Child. To serve as a court mandated volunteer, please complete the Court Mandated Volunteer Application and a staff member will contact you for next steps.

Volunteer Requirements
- A Precious Child accepts volunteers 5 years of age and older. Volunteers ages 5-12 must attend with a parent or guardian. Volunteers 13 years old and up can volunteer independently.
- All volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Waiver Form online prior to attending their first volunteer shift.
- Volunteers under the age of 18 must have their Volunteer Waiver Form signed by a parent or guardian to participate in volunteering.
- Volunteers are required to wear close-toed shoes to work in A Precious Child’s facility.
