Have Questions? We Have Answers
Q: Do you accept used car seats?
- Yes! Used or New Car Seats are accepted. New, in the box car seats are able to be given to families in need.
- Please note that we don’t distribute used car seats but do recycle them in partnership with the Colorado State Troopers.
Q: What do you do with items you can’t utilize for families?
All donated items are processed to ensure that families are provided quality items. Items that don’t meet our quality standards are recycled through local vendors.
Q: Do you take stuffed animals?
Yes, in good & clean condition.
Q: Do you take home décor?
We focus on distributing essential home goods and do not deem decor as an essential item for our cost-free store but thank you for considering us.
Q: Can I bring my kids or family in to volunteer with me?
Yes! We welcome youth ages 5+ to serve at our facility when accompanied by a parent or guardian until the age of 12.Youth 13 and older can sign up to volunteer without a parent or guardian.
Please note that each individual, regardless of age, will need to create an account on our volunteer site. Then, everyone in your family will sign-up for the same shift.
Q: Do I need to attend a Volunteer Orientation or any trainings before starting as a volunteer?
We do not require volunteers to attend an orientation before starting. Anyone can sign up for shifts in our Donation Center or Empowerment Resource Center Store without prior training. However, attending an orientation is a great way to learn more about A Precious Child and additional volunteer positions not advertised on our volunteer site since they require a set time commitment.
Q: How many hours do you require volunteers to commit to?
We do not have a set hour requirement for volunteers to fulfill. Volunteers can come in as often as once a year, to multiple times in a week and anything in between.
Q: How can I access programs and services from A Precious Child?
To be eligible for A Precious Child’s programs, families must have an active referral from an Agency Partner, live in our 8 county service area, be a parent/caregiver of a child or children 18 years and younger, currently live at 300% or below the Federal poverty level or need emergency support.
Visit our Receive Support page or email Intake@APreciousChild.org if you have questions.
