A Precious Child would not be able to meet the growing need of children and families in our community without the effort of the wonderful volunteers that give of their time and talents.

Volunteers have a hand in all of the operations of A Precious Child, including: clerical work, sorting donations, data entry and assistance with our special events.

How Does It Work?

We ask that all prospective volunteers fill out a Volunteer Application and attend a Volunteer Orientation prior to starting. We will be in touch within 5 business days to schedule a volunteer orientation. You must be at least 13 years old to serve as an unaccompanied volunteer. Volunteers under the age of 13 can volunteer with us, but must be accompanied by an adult supervisor.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Driver (Pick-up/Drop-off Donation Bins)  Volunteers in this role must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and have proof of insurance.  Volunteers may be dispatched to drop off donation bins and pick up items in and around the Denver Metro Area.

Donation Sorting/Hanging (in our Receiving Area)  Volunteers in this role will help organize, sort, inventory, and hang incoming donations to prepare them for the Store Floor in the Resource Center. This is a great opportunity for families, groups, and teens. It is a standing job behind the scenes and assistants must be able to life 35 lbs.

Receiving Area Assistant (Greet and Assist Donors with Donations)  Volunteers in this role will welcome donors, unload their donations and write receipts if needed. This is a high-energy job that requires the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. It is a standing position.

Special Event Volunteer Opportunities

Northfield Stapleton Concert Series and Special Events (to be held various Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the summer)  — This summer, we are partnering with Northefield Stapleton Mall for their concert series. These five fun concert events will allow A Precious Child to collect Back to School supplies for our Fill A Backpack Program. We are in need of two volunteers (per shift) to help collect and promote A Precious Child at these events.

Dillard's School Supply Drive (to be held on August 8th, 2015) We are partnering with Dillard's who will graciously be accepting school supply donations for our Fill-A-Backpack Drive on Saturday, August 8th. A Precious Child is in need of volunteers to help greet and thank all donors as well as provide them with an in-kind receipt should they need one. We would also like to make program information available to all donors.

Whole Foods Market Bradburn: Party on the Patio! (to be held on July 25th and September 26th)  — A family friendly event that features live music, food prepared by our store team of chefs, kids' activities and beer sampled by Wonderland Brewing. Volunteers will check IDs and issue wrist bands to guests.

Precious Miles 5k Race (to be held On August 16th, 2015)   Volunteers will help promote A Precious Child at a promotional table during the event by speaking about our organization to runners/walkers and their guests.

Additional Volunteer Opportunities

Office Assistant  Do you love interacting with people? This may be the perfect role for you! Office Assistants provide essential support to A Precious Child by serving as the friendly face of the agency. Office Assistants answer the phones, schedule appointments, welcome new and returning clients, and check them into our database. This is a highly-interactive, seated position. This position may require some computer training. We are actively seeking Spanish-speaking volunteers, however welcome any volunteers that are interested in this role.

Client Check-Out Volunteer — If you choose this role, you will have the most interaction with A Precious Child clients. These volunteers assist clients when they are finished shopping. This position requires attention to detail and the utmost customer service skills.

Database Assistant  Volunteers assist A Precious Child's data entry needs in both our client and volunteer databse. This is a seated position and may require computer database training.

Outreach Ambassador — Volunteers in this role assist clients at volunteer fairs by answering questions, sharing stories, and serving as the face of A Precious Child. This opportunity is a good fit for a volunteer that requires a flexible schedule.

Store Floor Assistant — Volunteers in this role assist our clients in making the most out of their shopping experience at A Precious Child. They personally assist each and every family with retrieving correct sizes and items and by answering questions. This position also entails keeping each section of the Store Floor fully stocked, cleaned, and extremely organized to ensure an easy shopping experience for our clients.

The Learning Center Volunteer — Volunteers in this role work in The Learning Center with kids ages 4-18 to facilitate a fun learning experience using STEM-based curriculum. Volunteers must complete a background check to work in The Learning Center and must have a heart for working with children.
